Application Procedures

Applications to all graduate programs at K-State are processed through the University's Graduate School. Below is a listing of the forms you need to fill out and items you need to submit. Some items are specific to international students only.

  1. The KSU application form for admission to the Graduate School.
  2. Reference Form — Three people need to complete the appropriate form and send it directly to us:
  3. The online Program Focus Form.
  4. Assistantship application form (Adobe Acrobat) (optional)
  5. One official transcript (with institution's seal) sent directly from each university attended.
  6. GRE scores sent directly from testing agency to KSU (6334) or ATID (4699); (no minimum scores are required; the GRE requirement is waived for KSU students enrolled in the Apparel and Textiles degree program).
  7. A one-page Statement of Objectives where you state your reasons for pursing a graduate degree, your career goals, and the specific area in which you would like to study.
  8. International Students: TOEFL scores sent directly from testing agency (600 minimum on the paper form, 250 minimum on the computer form or 100 minimum on the Internet-based test is required).
  9. Application Fee: $55 for international students or $40 for domestic students. Money order or cashier's check made payable to KSU Graduate School. Personal checks will not be accepted.
  10. International Students: Affidavit of financial support form (Microsoft Word).
  11. International Students: Photocopy of passport page that has the person's name and photograph on it.

Deadlines:

Domestic students may apply at any time; however, to be considered for graduate assistantships and scholarships, the February 1st deadline must be met.

International students need to follow the following deadlines:

  • February 1 for admission the following fall
  • September 1 for admission the following spring
  • December 1 for admission the following summer

Review by Graduate Faculty:

ATID graduate faculty review applications as a group and decide to recommend admission. Applications will not be reviewed until they are complete. If admission is recommended, the application, transcripts, and supporting materials are then sent to the Graduate School for final review. In the event that the faculty decide against admission, the applicant is notified by letter. The decision is made as expeditiously as possible. In the event of delay, applicants are given an approximate date on which they can expect notification.
