Student Awards

In recent years, ATID students have been very successful in regional and national design competitions.

2006

  • AT students awarded First, Second, and Third Place by the Fashion Group International of Kansas City.
  • AT student awarded Third Place by the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association.
  • AT graduate student awarded ITAA Scholarship.

2005

  • An AT graduate student was awarded First Place in the Concept to Consumer design competition, sponsored by AATCC.
  • AT students awarded First Place and Second Place in the Fiber to Fashion 2005 design board competition sponsored by the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, Atlanta, GA.
  • AT students awarded First and Second Place awards by the Fashion Group International of Kansas City.

2004

  • AT students were awarded 1st place, 2nd place and Honorable Mention for their designs at the national Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association.
  • An AT student won the 2004 Gen Art Perrier Bubbling Under Award of $10,000 for Futuristic Design Concepts.
  • An AT graduate student was one of 10 GTA’s at K-State honored for their teaching.
  • An AT graduate student received the Marjorie Joseph Scholarship for beginning doctoral students in the amount of $1,000 for ITAA.
  • An AT graduate student received the Design Excellence Award at ITAA.
  • An AT undergraduate student received the Sustainable Design Award at ITAA.
  • An AT student was a finalist in the Threads Design Competition at the Sewing Expo in Novi, MI.
  • AT students won two 1st Place, two 2nd Place and one Honorable Mention award at the Fashion Group International Career Day, Kansas City Career Day.
  • Seven AT students’ designs were exhibited at the International Textile and Apparel Association juried design exhibition, Portland, OR.

2003

  • Two graduate textile students received AATCC Regional Research Awards.
  • AMD students won 1st and 2nd place in Kansas City Fashion Group International Design Competition.
  • Two AT students’ designs accepted for juried exhibition in international competition, Savannah, GA.
  • AT graduate students received three of five national research awards from the American Association of Textile Chemist and Colorist through a competitive process.
  • An AT student won the ITAA study abroad scholarship.
