Short Biography:
My interest in Psychology was sparked while I was an undergraduate majoring in Philosophy at Hollins College in Virginia. I went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., studying cognitive development under a former student of Jean Piaget. I turned my attention to infancy and parent-child relationships for my doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. I conduct research on parenting styles and their impact on attachment and communication development. Concerns for the healthy social-emotional development of infants lead me to become a founding member of the Kansas Association for Infant Mental Health. I became an early adopter of distance education technologies at K-State, and currently teach all of my courses online.
