Short Biography:

Professionally, I have been with Kansas State University’s Institute for Academic Alliances (IAA) since 2002, and was active in the creation of the Institute. I have facilitated various inter-institutional academic initiatives, including Criminology and Justice Studies, Tourism, Bioprocessing, and Nuclear Engineering. I annually teach a graduate-level grant-writing course to students across the state of Kansas, and have taught undergraduate courses in expressive writing, referential writing, and classical argument. While a graduate student, I assisted in editing the Norton Critical Edition of Little Women. I am also co-owner of Viridis Gardenscapes, a Manhattan-based company that my partner and I started in 2001 to encourage the creation of sustainable, environmentally friendly landscapes in Kansas. I’m a member of the Manhattan Business and Professional Women (BPW) Organization, and currently serve on the K-State Child Development Center Board of Directors, Governing Committee, Fundraising Committee, Grants Committee, and Public Relations/Marketing Committee.
