Short Biography:

Linda K. Crowe, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an associate professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Kansas State University. She has been involved in education for more than 25 years. She began her teaching career as an assistant Head Start teacher in Missouri, followed by 4 years as an elementary classroom teacher, and more than 10 years as a school-based speech-language pathologist. While continuing her own educational pursuits, she made numerous state, national, and international presentations; completed school and parent workshops; and conducted research on child and adult language and literacy disorders. She was instrumental in the successful coordination of an interagency early intervention program while at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also organized and supervised a parent training program at Louisiana State University. More recently she implemented a summer literacy camp for preschool children at risk for reading and writing problems and school-age children who are struggling readers and writers. Her research in language and reading intervention has been supported by University and State of Kansas grants and has been published in professional journals, state newsletters, and international proceedings. She also is co-author of a book, The Source for Early Literacy Development, (Crowe & Reichmuth, 2001).
