The Team
The Kansas All-Hazards Behavioral
Health Team (KAHBH Team) is a project, funded by a contract between
Kansas State University and the Kansas Department of Social and
Rehabilitation Services, Mental Health Services.
Beginning in January 2005, Dr. Briana Nelson Goff, Associate Professor
of Family Studies and Human Services, and Charlie Griffin, Research
Assistant Professor of Family Studies and Human Services, were named
project coordinators in charge of developing a State plan for disaster
behavioral health in Kansas. The KAHBH Team also includes Kathy
Harmon, Interim Co- Director of Mental Health, Kansas Department
of Social and Rehabilitation Services, and recent graduates and
current graduate and undergraduate students at Kansas State University.
The State Plan will address preparedness
activities, response coordination, and recovery services in the
event of a Presidentially declared disaster or other public health
emergency.
