About Distance Education
Want to complete a Human Ecology degree or program without moving to Manhattan? The College of Human Ecology works closely with the K-State Division of Continuing Education to provide many opportunities for learning at a distance. Our partnership with DCE allows us to make a K-State education available to students all around the globe! Here’s how it works:
- The same award-winning human ecology faculty and instructors who teach on-campus courses teach our distance courses.
- DCE handles and administers enrollment for distance courses and the technical aspects of bringing our courses to you via the Internet, CD-ROM and other media.
- DCE offers resources to help distance students get the most of their university experience — program coordinators, library resources, technical help and even a Virtual Commencement Ceremony.
Our dedication to lifelong learning complements the College motto: “In a World Focused on Things, We Focus First on People.” Our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping students of all ages, genders and nationalities succeed at all stages of life. This means our distance programs especially cater to non-traditional learners — people who may be working, raising families, or caring for elderly relatives while working on a degree or certificate program.
Whatever brings you to K-State, human ecology, and distance education, we encourage you to get to know your instructors and peers and become involved. Regardless of where you live, we want you to know you are a Wildcat too!
