Alumni Advice to Future Students:
"The best thing about the Nutritional Sciences program at K-State was the breadth of the program and the labortory opportunities that exist. The curriculum encompassed a vast array of courses. You learn the fundamentals of nutrition in courses like Basic Nutrition and Human Nutrition, yet you get to interact with nutrition as a food entity in the Science of Food. You also get to understand the implementation and design of nutritional policy in Public Health Nutrition. You gain an understanding of nutrition and the various fields it encompasses. Yet, in addition to the coursework, there exists numerous opportunities to explore nutrition in a laboratory or research setting. The faculty at K-State are involved with some great research that allows students to get involved. These experiences allow you to take what you have learned in the classroom and apply it to real world nutritional issues." — Jonathan R. Mein '05 Human Nutrition, currently a Ph.D. student in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism at the Friedman School of Nutritional Science and Policy at Tufts University in Boston, MA.
