Honors program has new members

MANHATTAN — Fourteen new members have joined the College of Human Ecology Honors Program at Kansas State University.

Students who are incoming freshman with an excellent ACT score or continuing students with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average are invited to join the program. Students in the program are eligible to take honors courses offered at K-State and are advised about national scholastic competitions, as well as international and graduate study opportunities.

The students also must complete senior research papers, many of which are published in professional journals.

New members are:

Adam Koch, junior in athletic training, Clyde; Kay Peterson, sophomore in family studies and human services, Goddard.

From Greater Kansas City: Danielle Cooper, sophomore in nutritional science, Olathe; Jessica Simons, sophomore in early childhood education, and Emily Salzman, freshman in family studies and human services, both of Overland Park; and Ashley Foster, junior in nutritional sciences, Prairie Village.

Maggie Wright, freshman in hotel and restaurant management, Haven; Alison Greer, freshman in dietetics, Lawrence; Lindy Brownback, sophomore in hotel and restaurant management, Lyndon; Michelle Higgins, junior in nutritional sciences, and Ying Zhou, junior in hotel and restaurant management, both of Manhattan; Christine Coughlan, sophomore in human ecology and mass communications, Mulvane; and Amber Ziegler, sophomore in family studies and human services, Oakley.

From out-of-state: Tabatha Neubert, sophomore in family studies and human services, Fremont, Neb.
