Woven Wonders Closes May 6

Weaving history

The 150-year-old American coverlets hanging in Justin Hall will be taken down May 6 and returned to the controlled environment of the Costume and Textile Museum. The “Woven Wonders” exemplify treasures stored for preservation and teaching in ATID.

The oldest on display is an 1839 patriotic coverlet called Eagles and Stars. Curator Marla Day and Student Intern Elizabeth Shirley mounted the exhibit.
