Honor students demonstrate broad scope of CHE

Flaxseed to fashion. Preschoolers to soldiers. College of Human Ecology honor students tackled projects that demonstrated their concern for the world’s health, well being and economic strength.

Nine students in the May or August 2007 graduating classes completed projects that involved research, field study and academic activity. Honors students maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

Students and their projects are:

Audra Elizabeth Bartlett: The Economic Influences on the Success of Four American Designers. Her advisor was Petra Barnes.

Theresa Doyle: A Qualitative Study of Deployments to Iraq. Her adviser was Briana Goff.

Julie Ann Budke: Line-spread Test Comparisons of Nectar and Honey-like Beverages. Jane Garcia was her adviser.

Layla El-Chami: Kin Raising Kids: An Educational Community Gathering. Briana Goff was her adviser.

Amanda Henriksen: Gender Differences in Language Input in the Child Care Setting. Ann Murray advised her.

Allison Krase: Preschool Literacy Learning through Repeated Reading: A Case Study. Her advisor was Linda Crowe.

Molly Murphy: Comparison of the Quantity and Quality of Adult Language in Child Care Compared to Home Settings. Ann Murray advised.

Lindsay Podhajsky: The Impact of Dietary Flaxseed Oil on Profibrotic Interleukin-1 Induction in Response to the Anti-Cancer Drug Bleomycin. Rick Baybutt advised.

Ying Zhou: The Freshman 15. Deborah Canter was her adviser.
