MANHATTAN — “So, what’s your major?” If you’d like to have an answer to that evergreen campus question, consider attending Kansas State University’s annual Academic Majors Fair Wednesday, Oct. 3.
The fair, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the K-State Student Union, is designed to guide students through the university’s available majors, minors and secondary majors, all in one place. Last year, about 75 representatives from K-State’s colleges and student services helped out more than 1,000 students.
“Having the fair in October gives students the chance to have follow-up visits with advisers in time to complete any necessary paperwork before enrolling for the spring 2008 semester,” said Michael Lynch, associate vice president for educational and personal development programs.
Year after year, at least 95 percent of students surveyed after the fair say that they would recommend the event to others.
Students should bring their K-State ID card and plenty of questions. For more information on what those questions should be and what to do after the fair, visit the Academic and Career Information Center Web site at http://www.k-state.edu/acic/majorsfair
