Human Ecology No. 1…again

Jon Wefald, Denis Medeiros, and Joy Kozar

“We practice our motto: in a world focused on things, we focus first on people,” said Denis Medeiros (above center) when he accepted the first All-University Campaign Excellence Award for the College of Human Ecology this morning in Hoffman Lounge. Nearly 60 percent of the college’s faculty and staff contributed to the Changing Lives campaign, the highest percentage on campus. In presenting the award, President Jon Wefald (above left) said, “Thank you for the commitment to excellence I always see in Human Ecology.” Praising Dean Virginia Moxley’s leadership, he added, “This college is in the best shape ever.” Medeiros, associate dean for scholarship and research, stood in for Moxley who was attending meetings in New York. He, Joy Kozar (above right), Gina Jackson and Gayle Doll were the college’s campaign committee. Doll also was co-chair of the all-university campaign. The Changing Lives campaign met its goal of $500,000,000.
