Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Chef Taji Marie brings her culinary expertise to K-State again on March 6 and 7. She will lead “Flavors of Latin America,” two Culinary Enhancement Workshops for students, professionals and alumni at Derby Dining Center.
Workshops will include flavors from the islands, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Participants will learn production techniques, watch recipe demonstrations, dine on a Latin American lunch and participate in an optional hands-on session.
Among other experiences, she spent a year as chef on St. John in the Caribbean. She received rave reviews last year for “Flavors of the Mediterranean,” the third annual Department of Hotel, Restaurant, Institutional Management and Dietetics Culinary Enhancement Workshop.
Registration in the workshop for professionals and alumni is limited to 45 participants. Several levels of participation are available; all provide educational opportunities for HRIMD students. Individual registration starts at $100.
The student workshop March 7 costs $10 for general morning session and $5 for the afternoon hands-on session. Deadline is Feb. 15.
