Katie Hamm, senior in dietetics minoring in business and Spanish, has been chosen to serve as alternate student representative on the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.
“Commission members choose only one dietetics student as delegate and one as alternate in the United States each year. Katie’s selection is a great honor for her personally and for K-State,” said Deborah Canter, head of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management and Dietetics.
The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education is ADA’s accrediting agency for education programs preparing students for careers as registered dietitians or dietetic technicians, registered.
CADE exists to serve the public by establishing and enforcing eligibility requirements and accreditation standards that ensure the quality and continued improvement of nutrition and dietetics education programs. CADE accredits programs meeting those standards.
Katie is from Shawnee.
