A scholarship has been named after Mary Molt, assistant professor in the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management and Dietetics, honoring her dedication to teaching and mentoring students.
The Mary Molt Student Excellence Award was announced this month at the Midwest Regional Conference of the National Association of College and University Food Services at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind.
In announcing the scholarship, Regional President Nona Golledge said, “There is one individual in our region who exhibits the characteristics we were looking for in naming this prestigious award. Dr. Molt is a mentor, a teacher, a leader, and someone with a passion for student success.”
Molt is author of recent editions of “Food for Fifty,” an invaluable food production resource for nearly 70 years. She is currently working on the 13th edition.
A past regional president of NACUFS, Molt has received the group’s highest honor, the Theodore W. Minah Award.
