Peters receives Extension Excellence Award

paula.jpgPaula Peters, assistant director of family and consumer sciences and associate professor of human nutrition, will be honored for her leadership on the Kansas Family Nutrition Program.

The Faculty Extension Excellence Award from the College of Human Ecology will be presented at May commencement ceremonies. The award recognizes Extension work with a single theme that benefits the state of Kansas.

The program educates Kansans who are eligible for food stamps. Materials, such as the Kids A Cookin’ Web site and the “Feeding Our Youngest” newsletters, have been adopted by other states.

Peters came to K-State in 1990. Her bachelor’s and master’s degrees are
from South Dakota State University; she earned her doctorate in human
nutrition from Ohio State University.
