Dean commits to making college “a great place to learn and grow”

“Prepare students for professional and life success.”

Dean Virginia Moxley emphasized her philosophy of the role of Human Ecology faculty members at the annual fall faculty forum.

“Great organizations are those that do their ordinary, everyday work extraordinarily well. Our everyday work is advancing knowledge—through teaching, discovering, writing, creating and inventing. We are at our best when our students are prepared to teach, discover, write, create, and invent,” she said.

“This year, I commit to making this college a great place for students to learn and grow and for faculty and staff to work and learn and grow,” the dean told faculty.

She challenged each to join her in creating “a vibrant intellectual community where students and employees feel appreciated and supported and challenged to do better.”
