D. Chambers, Wang earn top faculty honors

The College of Human Ecology recognized Delores Chambers and George Wang for outstanding contributions to teaching and research at commencement exercises last week.
“These outstanding faculty members understand the interaction between people and their environments,” said Virginia Moxley, dean. “By examining these relationships in their scholarship and teaching, they prepare students to carry out the college’s mission – to respond to human needs.”
Chambers received the Faculty Research Award. The associate professor in human nutrition is co-director of the international-recognized Sensory Analysis Center. She was honored for her expertise in the research and development of sensory lexicons for dairy products and green teas.
Wang was selected for the Dawley-Scholer Award for Excellence in Student Development. Wang, an associate professor in human nutrition, specializes in cancer prevention by dietary means with emphasis on the molecular mechanisms of body weight control and phytochemicals. He involves students in his research.
