Below are sources of possible funding for scholarship and research, in addition to those found here. Information about on-campus, off-campus, private and governmental sources of funding are included.
K-State Research Assistance Sites
- Provost's Office
- Dean Barbara S. Stowe Endowed Faculty Development Fund. To support professional development of CHE faculty. To understand and impact federal and state public policy; will fund travel and related expenses. Eligible faculty must have at least a .5 FTE. Contact the Dean's Office.
- Targeted Excellence. To enhance those programs with the most promise of elevating the University’s stature. Variable amounts.
- University Small Research Grants. Research, scholarly activity, other creative efforts. Assistant professor or above.
- Cancer Center Awards. Graduate travel, faculty travel, fellowships, innovative research, faculty equipment.
- International Travel Awards. Study tours.
- James R. Coffman Leadership Institute. Refresh and develop leadership skills in a safe yet challenging learning environment. Networking and interdisciplinary cooperation for faculty and staff. Infuse K-State with empowered leaders. Faculty and staff are eligible.
- Teaching Professor Conference. Held annually for teaching faculty.
- KSU Mentoring Program for Women and Minorities in the Sciences and Engineering. Flexible funds to support research projects, and opportunities to develop a mentoring relationship with a senior faculty member. Tenure-track women and minority faculty.
- Summer Leadership/Management Institutes. For faculty or administrators. Sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
- Big 12 Faculty Fellowship Program. Scholarly activities in areas of teaching, research and service. Mentoring and networking opportunities. Travel to member institutions to participate in cross-mentoring among universities, develop working relationships and exchange ideas. Tenure-track or tenured.

- Fulbright
- Fulbright Senior Specialists Program. Prospective host institution abroad may contact an individual regarding his/her interest in participating in a particular grant opportunity. If this individual is not already on the Fulbright Senior Specialists Program Candidate Roster, he/she must be added.
- Fulbright Scholar Programs. Programs that offer U.S. faculty, administrators and professionals grants to lecture, do research or participate in seminars.
- Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program. To lecture and conduct research in countries around the world. Faculty and administrators.
- New Century Scholars (NCS) Program. International travel to attend NSC orientation, incidental expenses, books, supplies, research assistance, partial salary, or benefits Terminal degree in field.
- DEPSCoR. To support research critical to national defense.
- Phi Kappa Phi: Promotion of Excellence Grants Program. Active members of Phi Kappa Phi.
- USDA Teaching Awards: Outstanding Human Science Faculty. Human sciences faculty. NEED MORE INFO…
- LEAD 21 Research & Extension. Leadership development needs of faculty, specialists, program and team leaders, research station and center directors, department heads and chairs.
- AAUW Recognition Award for Emerging Scholars. Recognizes early professional achievement of an untenured woman scholar who has a record of exceptional accomplishments and shows promise of future distinction. Untenured, doctorate or equivalent.
- NSF Developmental and Learning Sciences. Supports studies that increase our understanding of cognition, increases our understanding of children's and adolescents' learning in formal and informal settings.
