Personal and Student Computer Connection Policy
To use the campus wireless or wired network for personal machines there are some security procedures and programs that need to be installed and adhered to. Please follow them before you try to use the campus network. If we find that your machine is not in compliance, you may be notified and asked to make sure it is secure. If it is found vulnerable to known security problems or viruses, it may be blocked from using the campus network. If you need assistance, contact us and we can help you.
- Rename your machine name to your eID to identify it.
- Setup the wireless settings according to Telecom's instructions. Wired connections are automatically setup with DHCP.
- Uninstall previous antivirus software, Install Trend Micro and do first the manual update.
- Set Windows to do an automatic update, preferably with automatic download and install, set to check daily.
